In the good old "bad" days, you didn't get into this building without a Top Secret and Crypto (TS and C) security clearance. Besides US Army personnel, US Navy and US Coast Guard enlistedmen once worked in this building. I left in the fall of 1965, but overall military staffing would double during the escalation of the Vietnam War.

  • Let's not forget the U.S. Air Force Security Service (USAFSS) had a large presence at what was then called the Joint Sobe Processing Center. I worked inside that building for 18 months, 1966-68, as a USAFSS radio intercept analysis specialist.
  • Worked in the JSPC from 67-69. Worked for Frank Harold and Fred B. Cole. For sure change my perspective of all that has followed in my life.
  • Assigned 1961-1963. Under "other duties as required" I was in JSPC and the TTY comm center a lot. Got to run a program I designed on the 1401. My first intro to computers and I was hooked.
