Harku railway station was a halfway station on the Liiva–Vääna railway, today located in Saue rural municipality, Tammi tee 15[1].
The narrow-gauge fortress railway of the Peter the Great sea fortress transport network was built to simplify and speed up the transport of construction materials to the fortifications being built at the main position of the Peter the Great sea fortress. The 22-kilometer-long Liiva–Vääna railway branch was the main branch of the fortress railway between the Nõmme-Väikse and Sõrve railway stations. The line had several branches, including the (planned) PSM Maarinde to the Humala position and to the Suurupi harbour.
