This is a memorial for the famous German poet Friedrich Schiller located at the intersection of Georgstraße and Schillerstraße in Hannover, Germany, Niedersachsen.
The memorial/sculpture was created in 1859 by Wilhelm Engelhard for the 100th birthday of Friedrich Schiller. In 1863 it was placed at the actual location. In 1955 it was dismantled until it was placed at the opera in 1959. In 1982 it was re-located to its origin location. The monument is listed in the German Monument Registers.
