    I understand that Turkey didn't invade. Unless you were there at the time I don't think you are qualified to make statements like the one you've made above.

    i believe they may very well have been there, or read books and news reports etc. Greek Cypriots and British tourists, amongst others, were beseiged in this hotel during the 1974 Turkish invasion. It was once a Greek Cypriot owner who ran the hotel. He has been barred from operating his/her hotel since, and now it operates by someone in his/her place, illegally. It is a shame, because we could certainly learn to live together again.
