This site is of one of the Philippines untouched & richest deposit of gold, nickel, copper and iron mines.

Municipal Councilor Armin Rios Marin who was an anti-mining activist was summarily executed by the Mining Company's Security Officer while protecting his island against these unwelcomed Miners on October 3, 2007.

Councilor Marin's sister, Rosedel, the town's Agrarian Reform Officer has turned herself anti-mining activist since that bloody incident.

Armin Marin will live forever among the hearts of Sibuyan island's residents as he is now considered a hero and an icon in their fight against these giant illegal miners and intruders to this sacred island.
