Madukismo Sugar Factory is one of the few surviving sugar factories of Java, Indonesia. It is said that Madukismo survives just
because sugarcane planters are still very loyal to Sultan, who was the sole owner of the factory. Little do they know that now most
of the shares are in the hands of PT. RNI (Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia).

However, Madukismo also has to thank Megawati for saving its life. On her last days as the President, as a part of her campaign
for Presidential election, Megawati granted several new machines for Madukismo, which at that time had to rely its operational on
Dutch-era machines.

Now Madukismo served as the main sugar processing facility in Yogyakarta and neighbouring towns. Most of the sugarcane from
around Yogyakarta come into Madukismo on a regular basis, resulting the extension of the milling season. It used to last about 6
months a year, but now the season extends up to 11 month a year.
