Waymart Wind Energy Center stretches for 6 miles along the ridge of Moosic Mountain north and south of US Route 6 between Carbondale and Waymart, in Wayne County, Pennsylvania. Commissioned in 2003, it consists of 43 GE Energy 1.5se wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 64.5 MW.

Waymart Wind Farm was the largest wind farm in Pennsylvania, United States, when it was built. The project is located in Wayne County, Pennsylvania. The Waymart Wind Energy Center became the largest commercial-scale wind farm in Pennsylvania when it began commercial operation in October 2003. The facility is an Exelon, Community Energy marketing partnership.

It is owned and operated by FPL Energy, the largest generator of wind power in the United States. Located along the ridge of Moosic Mountain in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, the 43 General Electric (GE) turbines can produce 64.5 megawatts of electricity. That’s enough electricity to power approximately 22,000 homes.
