Turkansaari Open-Air Museum

The museum is a farmyard complex typical of this region, with all appropriate buildings and equipment. Among 48 buildings the most important are a small wooden chapel, built on the island in 1694, and the old parsonage of. Museum of forestry and log floating is also situated in the museum area.
This is also a place of tar pit burning. There is a ferry ride to the island from city of Oulu from a small pier close to summer cafe Koivurannan kahvila.
