Founded in 15-16th century. It was the president residence of famous Pawłowo (Paulava) Republic (1769-1795). It was ruled by Paweł Ksawery Brzostowski, he gave settlers personal freedom and lands. This phenomical country was recognised by Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, it had unique coins. After the final occupation of Poland-Lithuania in 1795 the manor declined.
