Lichk (Armenian: Լիճք, also Romanized as Lichk’ and Lichq; formerly Gël and Gyol) is a village located south of Lake Sevan in the Gegharkunik province of Armenia. Lichk and Gyol both mean "lake" in Armenian and Turkish, respectively. Although the village was founded in 1830, there are ruins of earlier habitation including remains of a medieval town. There are also the ruins of the early Tsaghkavank which sit adjacent to the church of S. Astvatsatsin. Tsaghkavank overlooks the town of Lichk upon a hill, and the portion that remains is a circular cylindrical wall with a very small entry. The church of S. Astvatsatsin is a small basilica with some broken khachkars and gravestones embedded into its walls. There is a 13th century cemetery with numerous khachkars that sits on the same hill as the two churches. Nearby is a cyclopean fort.
