The prewar area was known as Labehnen and consisted of three parts: Groß Labehnen, which was in the immediate vicinity of the shooting range, Klein Labehnen, directly east, and Gut (Groß) Labehnen, an estate directly north of Groß Labehnen. The village was renamed Sosnovka (Сосновка) after the war. Far south at the the shooting range was the prewar German village of Barslack (renamed Vojnovo / Войново).
All settlements were abandoned and replaced by a military shooting range, which seems to be out of use.
