St. Jude General Hospital & Medical Center (City of Manila)

St. Jude General Hospital and Medical Center, a non sectarian institution, was established in honor of St Jude depicting the true Christian spirit with the end in view of augmenting the nursing and health needs of Filipinos in consonance with the programs of the Department of Health.

It started in 1950 as St. Jude Clinic and Maternity with a 12 bed capacity meant to cater to medical and maternity cases. Faced with the growing community health needs and the rapid advances in medical science, the founders, Dr. Ramon D. Atienza, Jr. And his wife Dr. Felicidad Calip-Atienza, built a two storey concrete hospital edifice with 50 bed capacity.
