The building at the corner was built in 1747. It housed the governor as well as the administrative office. In 1771 it became the governor´s residence. In 1828 the neighboring house was acquired by governor general Peter van Scholten and linked with the other building. It was renovated in 2000. Visitors are permitted to enter when there are no events underway, but must pass through security.
