Museo "Galluras" (Luras)

Italy / Sardinien / Calangianus / Luras / Via Nazionale

This house with a granite facade and wooden attic on the main street in Luras is typical of the Alta Gallura region. In fact it is the new "Museo Galluras" which has just opened its doors to the public. This faithful reproduction of a traditional local house as it would have appeared from the end of the 1400s until the first half of the twentieth century gives a great insight into how people really lived in this region.

Over 4.000 exhibits are on display within its walls some of which are extremely old and valuable such as the "Femina Agabadòra" hammer.
This tool was used to practise euthanasia. It was always used by women as only women were considered to be able to give and take away a life.
Here are some of the rooms you can visit.
