This intersection was expected to be built for Montréal–Mirabel International Airport in case of traffic increase, however, the airport was not popular and was shifted to freight and the intersection was deemed not necessary. If one looks closely at satellite imagery, this lines up almost perfectly with the proposed extension of Autoroute 13, which was shelved around the same time.
