It was an air defense missile defense system for the protection of a military airfield, and, according to unconfirmed reports, it was a part of the circular missile defense / air defense system of Kiev city during Soviet period. It was equipped with the S-75M "Volkhov" anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), and also (according to unconfirmed reports), had a "7A" storage facility (nuclear) with an anti-aircraft missile system for hitting complex air targets.
