The Snetogorsky Monastery dates back to the year 1299. It was copied from the Saviour's Transfiguration Cathedral in the Mirozsky Monastery. In the 15th centery, the cathedral was a place for taking vows and was also the burial-vault of Pskov princes. In the 17th centery, a porch was added and two side-chapels were built in the 18th сеntery. In 1804, the Snetogorsky Monastery was closed and the building was used as a pontifical country house.Currently there is a convent here.
