Primarily - an industrial giant on the scale of the USSR. Since 2004, the plant formally placed under the control of the Russian Federation, as a payment for Armenia's debt to RF. Since then, the company went into decline, a reserve fund of about 900.000 pounds disappeared, 92% of the staff dismissed after a year of non-payment of wages, and expensive property bought with the world's leading machine tool companies being subjected to loose sale despite the criminal case under article "theft" against one of the former administrations.
