Ampthill Park, landscaped by Capability Brown on the Greensand Ridge was famously the site of the castle in which Catherine of Aragon lived following divorce from Henry VIII. There is now a memorial Katherine's Cross on the summit. Ampthill Park Proms is planned which will be the 3rd Proms in the summer of 2011. 70 hectares. The largest expanse of acid grassland in the county and flanked by sweet chestnuts and oaks.
