This is a reservoir of fresh water( now contaminated) constructed in 1876 by a local zamindar for irrigation/water supply.
One interesting thing which happened during its digging was they found timbers or wooden planks inside the trench which was dug .Those wooden planks were identified later to be city walls of mauryan empire of chandragupta.around these area there was supposed to be the city entrance and the walls were in parallelogram shape runing from west to east.
