Copans Road
Copans Road is part of an east-west road that stretches from western Coral Springs to Pompano Beach. It nearly reaches the Sawgrass Expressway to the west, and terminates at Federal Highway (U.S. Route 1) to the east. At Banks Road in Margate, the road becomes known as "Royal Palm Boulevard", and the two road names are used interchangeably. Maps before 1980 show Royal Palm Boulevard and Copans Road in several non-connecting "sections" from Margate to Pompano Beach. Sometime in the early 1980s, the roads were joined together.
