Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290)
The Northwest Freeway is Highway 290 for the Houston area. It supersedes the original Hempstead Road, which it is built over in some cases. Additionally, until the FM 1960/Highway 6 interchange, it also carries the State Highway 6 badge.
