Texas State Highway 97 is 143.746 miles long. It begins from US Highway 90 in Waelder and goes southwest through Gonzales and Nixon, where it joins US 87. West of Stockdale, SH 97 splits from US 87 and heads through Floresville and crosses Interstate 37 west of Pleasonton. It continues southwest to Business Interstate 35-C in Cotulla.
