US Highway 283
US Highway 283 runs north-south with US 83 to the west and US 183 to the east. It is briefly concurrent with US 183 in Texas. US 283 begins about four miles west of Brady, TX from US 87. It goes north meeting US 183 south of Throckmorton. They run together to Vernon, TX where US 283 goes northward. It continues through Oklahoma and into Dodge City, KS. It crosses Interstate 70, then US 36 in Norton, KS. It makes a final jaunt in southern Nebraska ending in Lexington just after crossing Interstate 80. In Lexington, US 283 goes over US 30, then right on 5th and right on Jefferson to end at US 30.
