Interstate 35 (I-35) / Kansas Turnpike

The Kansas Turnpike runs from Oklahoma to Missouri in southeast Kansas. The southernmost toll barrier is a few miles north of the Oklahoma border. Here it is also Interstate 35. It goes north to Wichita, then northeast to Emporia, where the Turnpike follows I-335. When I-335 ends in Topeka, I-470 takes over the designation for a short bit. There are no exits along the portion of I-470. I-470 meets I-70 and the Turnpike follows I-70 to the east ending just before Missouri.

Interstate 35 starts just a few blocks from the Mexico border in Laredo, TX. From Laredo, it carries traffic north through San Antonio and Austin towards Dallas/Fort Worth (where it splits into I-35E and I-35W). From Texas, I-35 passes through Oklahoma City, OK and Kansas City, KS. After going through Des Moines, IA, I-35 splits again into I-35E and I-35W in Minneapolis/St. Paul. It ends in Duluth, MN next to Lake Superior.
