A tiny island in the passage between mainland Dominican Republic (Hispaniola Island) and Saona Island close to the border between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Catalinita Island has a rich marine life and is a popular diving and snorkelling site. The island is uninhabited but on the days of tours local cooks come to Catalinita to offer grilled lobster, a local speciality to visitors. Catalinita Island is part of the Parque del Este natural reserve.
