With its total height of 314 metres (1,030 feet), the 1980s-era TV Tower is Estonia’s tallest building and entertainment centre, boasting not only great views but also fascinating exhibitions and interactive attractions. The viewing platform at the level of 170 m (558 ft) offers fantastic, panoramic views of Tallinn, its surroundings, and the sea. While on the top of the tower, you can also visit an interactive exhibition about genes and gene technology, enjoy a drink at the highest café in the country and check out some of the other high tech displays. You can for instance see the TV Tower, beautiful views of the city and surrounding nature from a unique angle through VR-glasses. The virtual reality experience starts with a walk on the edge of the TV Tower and continues with a flight around the tower. Special windows in the floor let the not-so-faint-hearted stare into the 170-metre emptiness below the viewing deck. For an additional fee, you can also walk on the edge of the viewing platform (from April to October). On the ground floor, you can learn about the fascinating history of the Tallinn TV Tower and its role in the restoration of Estonian independence. You can also record a news clip in the tower’s television studio and send it to your friends via email or Facebook. If you wish, you can buy a combined ticket for the TV Tower and the Tallinn Botanic Garden, located right next door, but you must do so at the ticket office as the combined ticket is not available online. Visiting the TV Tower (and the Tallinn Botanic Garden) is free of charge with Tallinn Card. The card also provides priority admission.
