Historically, this land was known as known as Providencia Ranch and used by Universal Studios before they bought Universal City. Next leased as Lasky Ranch, the movie studio ranch of Famous Players-Lasky, the fore runner of Paramount Pictures, before they bought a studio ranch in Augora. Then it was leased by the across-the-street neighbor, Warner Brothers, before being purchased by Forest Lawn.

  • Lasky ranch Jesse Lasky's movie ranch was where Cecil B. DeMille shot many of his early films. A busy spot in old Valleywood, it was along the river near where the Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Memorial Park is located.

  • Michael Jackson is buried at the Forest Lawn, Glendale location not too far away. I still remember the day of his funeral as the streets were crowded from news crews from all over the world.
