The history of the Park begins around 1910.
Mrs. Anthony De Bruyn, Mrs Tony, buy some land next to the park castle Ten Opstal. On these fields they have the villa-Franciscus Xaverius built with an appropriate garden, the current Park.
After the death of Mrs Tony in 1933 are villa and garden donated by testament to the diocese Mechelen. Cardinal Van Roey occasionally goes ther to work quietly.
After the death of Cardinal Van Roey start in 1961, driven by the new pastor Dictus Leus discussions are started with the diocese Mechelen on the purchase of the Park by the parish. Eventually there will be for the parish a very favourable settlement:
The villa, not suited as parisch meeting place, is sold to individuals.
The parish can use the park, as long as they want, as long as it's for the people of the parish.
It is the intention to build a new parish center along with a playground for the local children.
In 1964, the current parish hall is raised. Step by step, depending on the financial situation, the room expanded.
