Rahe Castle (Aachen)

Germany / Nordrhein-Westfalen / Aachen
 moated castle  Add category

Rahe Castle (Schloss Rahe) is a moated castle in Laurensberg. Most of the building has been converted to a congress and business centre. Events are held in the atrium which replaces the former inner courtyard, but the original well has been retained.

The south wing with a stone bridge preserves the style chosen by Gerhard Heusch in 1787 when he had the castle rebuilt.

Beyond the parking lot, a massive watch tower is now used as a dwelling.
