Sudipen is a landlocked municipality in the province of La Union in the Philippines. As of the 2010 Census, it had a population of 16,531 people.
Sudipen is politically subdivided into 17 barangays:
-Bigbiga
-Bulalaan
-Castro
-Duplas
-Ilocano
-Ipet
-Maliclico
-Namaltugan
-Old Central (Nagpanaoan)
-Poblacion
-Porporiket
-San Francisco Norte

History:
The founding of the town of Sudipen was an achievement realized in the militancy of the leadership of 12 men, as accounted in the research done by the teachers of Old Sudipen in 1955. It was an undertaking done for having not forgotten the value of freedom and independence being fought for by their forebears during the Spanish regime. Their petitions to have a town of their own for the sake of prosperity will ever be read in the annals of reports of local and national authorities, beginning from the last three decades of the 1800s to the last three decades of 1900s which are now also found in modern day historical documents. After them no set of men yet in the town could be found to equalize o encompass their wit and speed of leadership. The 12 men:

4. Batallang (Degan)
5. Joaquin Bay-an
6. Agustin Busansog
7. Anastacio Busansog
8. Campiot
9. Rafael Dapig

11. Pang-ot
12. Quid-ing (Piaoan)
may not be seen in a concrete monument anywhere, but they caused the Township of Sudipen, then its making as a Municipal District.
