Faial Island

Island of Faial, in the Azores, also known as the Blue Island for its close connection to the sea and the blue hydrangeas (flowers) that divide the farm fields.
The city, Horta, one of the worlds best known ports for yachts, also provided a link for transatlantic communications (by sea floor cable) during the 1930's and 40's.
