Demolished in October 2012 to make room for a shopping center.

During its years of existence, the studio lost 13 million dollars. If you had driven by in recent years, the lack of activity was evident, and the facility was falling into a state of disrepair-a fire in one of the studios was never repaired. The backlot street was beginning to rot.

Downey Studios stood part of the site of Rockwell Industries where the Apollo capsules and space shuttles were built. It consisted of two stage buildings and 20+ acre backlot including suburban street.

The company faced massive clean up and legal fees dating back to the days when toxic wasted was produced and stored here during the time that Rockwell owned the site. Respiratory problems experienced in the area was dubbed "Downey Flu."
