The building comprises a 13th-century medieval gate tower (the first fortified enclosure).
The house was built in the 14th-15th centuries, alterations 1542,1690,1745,1860.
In 1833 tailor Chr. Zerner donates his house, and the first vocational crafts School was opened here.
Towards Turnului St. and Pasajul Scărilor tourists can find Butoiul de Aur (The Golden Barrel) Restaurant.
In 2002 the first journeyman traveler stopped to Sibiu after a long absence. Received accommodation in this building and the Stairs Tower. Since then Huet Square no. 3 became the official residence of traveling journeymen who founded an association and can be seen in Sibiu every summer in July and August.
