Opened in 1987 as the Grand Hotel Berlin, the flagship hotel in the GDR's Interhotel chain, designed to cater to Western tourists. After reunification and the privatization of the Interhotel monopoly, the hotel joined the Maritim chain and then became a Westin. Used in the film "The Bourne Supremacy".
