Mr. Yu Qing Cheng is a self-taught clay sculptor from China who, beginning at the age of 33, pioneered a highly individualistic and creative artistic world, becoming one of his country's representative artists.

As a result, the Chinese government built sculpture parks in Harbin and Beijing dedicated to showcasing his works and also built him an art museum with a studio in Tianjin.

At the age of 39, he entered Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. He received the honorary title of "Pioneer in Folk Arts" from the Ministry of Culture in 1988 and designated "Master of Folk Arts" and awarded the title of "International Art Master" by UNESCO (United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization) at the age of 52. Moreover, he won a prize for his "crackled" sculptural surface effect at the World Patent Fair.

Mr. Yu has exhibited all over the world and has been awarded many prizes. His artwork is very popular with foreigners, especially foreign tourists. His sculptures bring smiles to everyone who sees them. On Nami Island, the Yu Qing Cheng Sculpture Gallery was created as a permanent place to exhibit his work.
