One Manhattan West

USA / New Jersey / West New York / Ninth Avenue, 401
 office building, skyscraper, 2019 construction

995-foot, 67-story futurist/modernist office building completed in 2019. Designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill, it is clad in silvery-blue glass, with rounded corners. The glass at the triple-height base is clear, showcasing the pedastal-like, travertine-clad core that curves outward toward the top of the lobby area. The center of the east side has two sets of glass revolving doors and two sets of glass double-doors. There are two revolving doors and one set of glass double-doors near the east end of both the north and south facades. The west end of the base has a small section of darker glass, with metal service doors at the ground level.

The north, south and west faces of the tower rise vertically up from the ground, while the east face bows out until the 16th floor and then tapers in uniformly to the roof. The structural system of the tower is composed of a central reinforced concrete core and a perimeter steel moment frame. Part of the tower overhangs the below ground train tracks leading into Penn Station. In order to avoid the tracks, the perimeter columns on the south, north, and east sides do not come down to ground level, but are transferred to the core above the building's lobby.

Tenants include Ernst & Young, the National Hockey League, Accenture, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom which is the anchor.
