Horse Hollow III Wind Energy Center is a wind farm located in the 'highlands' southeast of Sweetwater and southwest of Abilene, Texas. The three 'Horse Hollow' wind farms run west-southeast thru the center of that area and 'HH3' is the western of the three, just east of where highway TX 153 joins TX 70. Commissioned in 2006, it consisted of 149 GE Energy 1.5sle wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 223.5 MW.
In 2017, the turbines' blades were upgraded, converting the 77 meter (diameter) rotors to 87 meters (but leaving the generating capacity unchanged), thus making them model 1.5-87.
