Australian skyscraper One Central Park in Sydney (116m tall) bypassed 87 applicants of the annual award of the international Council for high-rise buildings and urban environment (CTBUH) in 2014.
The author of the project, the French architect Jean Nouvelle, together with the engineer and botanist Patrick Blanc, used in a complex of two towers (16 and 33 stories) the technologies of growing plants in an artificial environment (without soil), through which the greens grow in drawers on the floors and extend along the entire height of the facade .
Another "chip" that ensured victory was the solar energy management system. It consists of heliostats - mirror panels on the roof of a 16-storey building and a console located on the upper floors of a high tower. In addition, the system regulates energy consumption in buildings, it directs the sun's rays to the console, which illuminates the pool in the atrium and plants in a park in the shadow of a skyscraper. At night, the LEDs built into the console illuminate the building and the city space.
