A memorial cross on the westside of the Lindeweg marks the place where on 3 Janary 1944 the Lancaster JA902 of the 463 Sq crashed. The six crewmembers were killed. Four of them are buried on Vollenhove General Cemetery, the other two rest in unknowns graves and are mentioned on the Runnymede Air Force Memorial in England. The bomber was stationed on Waddington aerodrome in Lincolnshire and was on a mission to Berlin.
