the project of confluence is about reaching geographical spots as stated in its webpage confluence.org this is the story of the people that reach and documented this for the first time
the story:
(visited by Jair Sampaio Soares Jr, Cláudio Lima, Walberto Luna, Alex Catedral, Julio Miranda, Paulo Trindade and Mario Henrique Almeida)
04-Aug-2013 -- The confluence was conquered in the first onslaught held on August 4, 2013 at 12:49 pm.
We had come from Salvador at 6:30 in the morning and our path was BR324 until Feira de Santana, then followed by the BR116 highway towards the District of Jorrinho, belonging to the municipality of Tucano. Following the federal road, after crossing the bridge over Itapicuru River, we traveled for over 4 km and we accessed a service road to the West. Then we ran for over 28 miles on unpaved roads to the farm owned by Mr. Coati Bernardinho Mandal. Finally, we parked the bikes and headed on foot for another mile until the Confluence 11S 39W.
After registering the conquest with some photos, we quenched our thirst in a bar situated in the village Lagoa do Quati, after taking a medicinal water bath and enjoyed a delicious Barbecue roasted goat district Jorro.
The region where this confluence lies is next to the "Green Stone Belt" of Itapicuru, known for gold and mineral occurrences of metals like zinc, lead, and copper. In addition to the occurrences of gold, two good options for visitors to the region are the Jorrinho Park, which offers a good soak in cascade and the seat of the District of Caldas do Jorro, considered a major tourist destination of Brazil's municipalities. The medicinal waters of Caldas do Jorro emerge with great pressure because of the gases dissolved in the water and reach a temperature of 48 °c.
Access to the confluence is easy and we recommend that the forthcoming visits are carried out with the company of Mr. Bernardinho, owner of the farm Coati.
