museum, listed building / architectural heritage
The Royal summer palace was built for Gustav III. Architect Olof Tempelman drew up the plans för the pavilion in 1787 and the interior design was carried out by Louis Masreliez. Both the fashion-conscious monarch Gustav III and Masreliez had developed an interest in Roman antiquity during tours in Italy, and this is reflected in the furniture and interiors.
