Once the prime jewel of Akron, "RAM" opened in 1975 and reach its peak in the late 1970s, with JCPenney, Sears, Montgomery Ward, and O'Neil's. Eventually falling on hard times, it closed in October 2008 when the utilities were cut. At the time of its closure, it had Sears and JCPenney Outlet Center. The Sears closed a few years later but the JCPenney Outlet Center remained and even re-branded as JC's Five Star Outlet before the chain shuttered late 2013. The old Target and Sears were later occupied by non-retail businesses.

Demolition of the mall began on October 28th, 2016 and was completed in late October 2017. The site is now home to an Amazon Fulfillment Center.
