TARUC Kuala Lumpur Main Campus

Tunku Abdul Rahman University College was conceptualised by the Malaysian Chinese Association, a political component party of the Barisan National coalition government of Malaysia to enable Chinese students to obtain a place for further studies. Within the compound of TARC is also the campus for UTAR (University Tunku Abdul Rahman). The late Tunku, as is affectionately called, is the first prime minister of Malaya. It is in his honour that the college and university is named after him. Malaya obtained its independence from the British on 31-Aug-1957 and subsequently merged with Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore to form Malaysia. Singapore subsequently withdrew from Malaysia.

Kuala Lumpur Main Campus
The Kuala Lumpur Main Campus is located at Jalan Genting Kelang, Setapak. It is about 8km from the city of Kuala Lumpur. Occupying an area of 186 acres, the campus design and environment are very conducive for study and for relaxation. The undulating and hilly nature of the campus consisting of multi-level grounds has been preserved to blend with the natural surroundings. Commuting is similarly convenient with public transport like Light Rail Transit (LRT), highways and middle-ring roads providing easy accessibility to the campus. Major shopping complexes like Jaya Jusco, Carrefour, Giant, Wangsa Walk, KL Festival City and places of interest like the National Zoo, Batu Caves, Royal Selangor Pewter and Lake Titiwangsa are within the vicinity. The local area also has much to offer with the variety of Chinese, Malay, Indian, Thai and Western food.

  • If you like the old fasion way of going here fill one form, get to another place pay the bill, then go back to the first place and submit it... like to climb hills every day, like they way they eat you poor... then this is the college of choice for you!
  • the only place where racism don't happen.... hahaha.....
  • Good College. Easy to enter but very hard to go out.
  • Yalar, those young people come here not for study one! Come here to look for boyfriend and girlfriend only, after got partner then stay together, everynight easy to enter but very hard to come out! Celaka, pregnant that time only cry and die!
  • LOL mahnn lol!!! hahaha ya ...its also the lala land.....hate them!!! ya no racism at all!!!!ya in college kissing at the staircase.....lol wtf....and hold here hold there infront of everyone....hahahaaa kopi-O is right hahaha damnn true!!!!
  • Undeniable, sure there are some student only aim is to look for boyfriends/girlfriends. but is this only happen in TARC ? it is much more common on other college, esp private type (even government University also happen). But for majority of the student, there are not rich and only aim is to study and graduate.(TARC is one of the lowest fee, semi-private college in Malaysia - much cheaper than private-college, but higher than government University) Easy get in and hard to get out ? No very easy actually, minimal entry requirement is needed and strictly applied, also, this is to ensure really qualified graduate, or at least minimal quality graduate is produced, not 'book-worm' or someone with attitude problem. Compare to some private college where almost everyone is "easy-out", this college is not just eye for money. If want 'easy in, easy out', sorry but please look for other private college/U. Climb mountain ? I think you mean the campus terrain and size ... of course you cannot company with mostly 'flat' terrain in your primary or secondary school, it is College Campus. Also, is this only happen in TARC ? go look for other University, for example, USM Penang, it is much larger and more 'mountain' to climb. and in some University, it even have Internal shutter (bus) services cause it is too large to walk between each building/class-room. If only a few minute or less walk and "climbing" some (really small) hill also treat as a problem, how to expect and face the real-world challenge after graduate ? Rgds ~ Ex-Student.
