House "At the White Peacock"
The house was built at the end of the 14th century as a result of the merging of two separate buildings. The White Peacock on the façade was commissioned by the manufacturer Lawrence in the first half of the 15th century. At the end of the 17th century, the famous Dutch artist Johann Ongkhers (1656-1735) moved into the house, who in 1714 became the main artist of the city. His family remained in the White Peacock's house until 1769, when the building was reconstructed with a new Rococo façade, the shape of which has been preserved to this day. During the uprising against the German invaders in May 1945, the house was almost completely burned down, leaving only the Gothic walls of the basement and the back of the first floor. During the 1949 renovation, most of the house was restored. Now the house houses the Museum of Chocolate (Museum čokolády Choco-Story).
