This square is what used to be the ship of the Dom church. During a big storm in 1674 the ship got destroyed and was never rebuilt. Since then the Dom tower and the Dom church are seperated.
Along the square there are a small tourist office ,where you can buy tickets to climb the Dom tower, some pubs and a department of the Utrecht School of Arts.
