The cemetery complex surrounding the 13th-century mausoleum of Jochi, the eldest son of Chinggis Khan. Jochi established the main headquarters or camp (ordu) of his forces in the Ulytai area after the Mongol conquest of Khwarazm to the southwest in 1220, and was buried here upon his death in 1227. The site of his mausoleum and other burials in the vicinity is believed to mark the general location of his camp.
