The first specially built Evangelic Lutherans church in Europe.
First church for Lutherans in Europe was started to built in 1574 and finished in 1625. It was built next to wooden church (built before 1520, destroyed in 1627). Basis of tower (remained part) of church built in years 1660-1688, top of tower - 1862. Jelgava city and church were destroyed by Russians (Soviet Army) in 1944, the left buildings were destroyed after WWII. Near the church was grave of Jost Meller, vogt of city (built in 1693).
