CGAS Miami is currently ranked as the busiest Search and Rescue Air Station worldwide, and operates as part of the US Coast Guard's 7th District, Sector Miami. Utilizing HU-25 Guardian Medium Range Surveillance Aircraft and H-65 Dolphin Short Range Recovery Helicopters, the unit is responsible for an area exending North to Malabar Beach, East over the Bahamas and as far South as Haiti and the Windward Islands.
