600-foot, 44-story International-style office building completed in 1974. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, it was formerly known as the International Paper Building. It is now simply known as 1166 Avenue of the Americas, or alternatively the Marsh & McLennan Building, for the financial company headquartered here. In 2005, the lobby was renovated by Gensler.

The building is square in shape, with each facade having 20 windows of dark-tinted glass, set in a grid of dark-grey stone. Plate-glass and aluminum storefronts line the ground floor, with the recessed main entrances at the east ends on 45th & 46th Streets; they are covered by silver metal canopies. Mechanical levels at the 13th and 34th floors have black metal vents in place of windows across the middle 14 bays. The ground floor is occupied by a Citibank branch, LensCrafters, a Capitol One Bank branch, and Madison Jewelers.
